In its latest tweet on the social media platform X, Sam Altman, CEO of Openai, confirmed that all the subscribers paid by Chatgpt will have access not only to the old GPT-4O model, but also to older LLMs like O3, 4.1.
The popular Chatgpt-4.5 will also come back, but it will only be available for pro subscribers. Altman says that it is because “it costs a lot of GPU”, a reference to the amount of the computing power he needs.
In the wake of the reaction against the suppression of the popular 4o model without any warning when GPT-5 was released, Altman seems to have learned a lesson and promised: “If we ever depreciate it, we will give a lot of notice.”
All paid users of chatgpt should now find a tent “display additional models” in the Chatgpt web settings, which will give you access to all the old LLM models. You can also add a new GPT-5 Thinking mini-model.

Altman also refers to the very critical “colder” tone of the new Chatgpt-5, which has alienated many users in the tweet: “We are working on an update of the personality of GPT-5 which should feel warmer than the current personality, but not as boring (to most users) as GPT-4O”.
His reference to Chatgpt-4o being boring refers to the sycophandic phase that GPT-4O seemed to enter after an upgrade in April.
Altman continues ”, however, learning for us in recent days is that we really need to go to a world with more personalization by user of the personality of the model.”
Multiple personalities
Altman’s reference to “user personalization” reflects the recognition of OpenAi than what its users want is an easier way to select the way in which is formal, humorous, empathetic or directing the assistant.
If I have been given for free to imagine how I would like Chatgpt to work, I would like to arrive at the stage where Chatgpt personality traits could be represented via cursors, as “ professional vs ” or “ concise vs detailed ”. This would make a lot of way of obtaining the results you are looking for.
