Jeff Bezos’ mother Jackie Bezos died at the age of 78.
On Thursday, August 14, the heartbreaking news was announced by the Bezos family foundationA learning program founded by Jackie and Jeff. Jeff also wrote a tribute in honor of his mother.
The businessman took his Instagram account and shared that his mother died “after a long fight with dementia of Lewy’s body”.
“She died today, surrounded by so many of us who loved her-her children, her grandchildren and my father,” he continued.
The founder of Amazon, aged 61, added: “I know that she felt our love in these last moments. We all had the chance to be in her life. I keep her safe in my heart forever.”
According to the website of Cleveland clinic“The dementia of Lewy’s body (LBD) is a drop in mental functioning that occurs when protein tufts called Lewy body accumulate in your brain cells. They damage parts of your brain that affect thought, behavior, movement and sleep. LBD worsens” and “there is no healing, but drugs and therapies can help symptoms”.
For the UNversed, Jeff’s mother received a condition diagnosis in 2020.
Jakie is survived by his sons Jeff and Mark, her daughter Christina, her husband Mike Bezos, 11 grandchildren and a great-grandfather.
