Rawalpindi:
In a horrible incident in the Girja region of the jurisdiction of the Dhamian police of Rawalpindi, a man would have tortured his wife to death, with the suspicion of their son, in order to secretly bury him. The plan was thwarted when the crime was revealed during the funeral preparations at Kot Addu.
According to police, on August 10, Samina was taken to the hospital by her husband, Amir Abbas, and their son, who said she was injured after falling on the stairs. No official report was submitted to the hospital’s police facilitation center. On August 14, Samina died of his injuries. The accused then placed his body in a coffin and transported it quietly to Kot Addu to bury without informing his family.
Relatives learned of his death through the local community and rushed to Kot Addu. During ritual washing of the body, they noticed clear signs of torture. They arrested the burial, alerted the local police and brought the body back to Rawalpindi for legal action.
The city officer of the city of Rawalpindi (CPO) Khalid Hamdani took note and ordered the Dhamial police to act. A post mortem exam was carried out and a murder case was recorded under accusations of homicide and concealment of evidence on the complaint of the victim’s father, Ghulam Akhtar.
Akhtar, a resident of Kot Addu, said that his daughter had married Amir Abbas 18 years ago without family consent and that they had three children. The family had little contact with them. On the morning of August 14, he heard the announcement of his funeral and went to the room with parents. Women who prepared the body of Samina revealed injuries and bruises, which prompted him to call the police.
Akhtar also allegedly allegedly allegedly allegedly brought other women at home and would force Samina to immoral activities. On his refusal, Abbas, with their children, would have beat her to death. Police began an investigation and assured that the suspects will soon be arrested.
