Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum addressed the controversial comments she made on the Caitlin Clark Stars team last month, insisting that she had made a “joke”.
After the WNBA Star Match, where many players wore t-shirts that said: “Pay us what you owe us” in reference to the ABC negotiations of the players’ union with the League, Plum told journalists that the players of the Clark Stars Team had not been at a meeting to discuss the shirts.

“But the t-shirt, just, a United Front, was determined this morning, for which we had a meeting. And, you know, not in Tattletale, but no member of the Clark team was very present for that,” said Plum.
The comments sparked a hard reaction against Plum because many fans stressed that Clark herself wore the t-shirt during the match.
Now Plum insists that his comment was not serious and made reference that many players were “suspended”, the morning of the apparent meeting.
“I made a bad joke. I made a very bad joke, difficult,” said Plum during an episode of the podcast of the legend of the Wnba Sue Bird “Bird’s View”.

Plum also said that she “should have known that it was an increasingly series moment”.
“I should have the 2020 step back because of the shirts, because of the fans, as I should have known that it was a very serious moment that a typical star game,” said Plum.
“Because I entered this press conference very similar to, good luck, we won. And then we spent an excellent weekend, like my family here, it was just a good time. And so the questions came, and it was like CBA this, this, this, and I tried honestly … was like,” hey like the Clark team, as if they did not do it in the meeting. “”
The demonstration was the weekend conference when players criticized WNBA officials in the midst of negotiations.

Wgb Commissioner Cathy Engelbert told journalists that she thought that an agreement would be made before the current expiration of the ABC after this season.
“I am always really optimistic that we would do something that would be transformational,” she said. “And that, next year in All-Star, we will talk about the quality of everything. Obviously, there is a lot of work to do on both sides to get there.”
