- A new report describes Apple Watch 12 changes
- We could obtain new sensors and an external overhaul
- The laptop will not be launched before September 2026
It seems likely that the Apple Watch 11 will be unveiled next month, if Apple sticks to its usual schedule, but a new report suggests that its 2026 successor will present a fairly large overhaul.
This trick comes from a report in Digitimes (via macrumors), based on the sources of the supply chain, although we do not get too much information on what it could involve – and it is not a device that has changed a lot in terms of gaze over the years.
The article mentions an increased number of sensors, probably for more precise health and fitness monitoring, or perhaps to add to the metrics that can be followed. These additional sensors can be part of the overhaul.
In the past, we have heard rumors on an Apple watch with a camera and an Apple watch with a glass frame sensitive to the touch, but these potential upgrades are not specifically mentioned in the latest Digitimes.
Battery boost
The new article also mentions the improvement of electrical efficiency, which, we hope, means that we can delight a better battery life with the Apple Watch 12, and perhaps the Apple Watch Ultra 4 (the Apple Watch Ultra 3 should arrive this year).
With regard to this year’s model, the report indicates that the Apple Watch 11 will obtain certain features of Apple Intelligence. However, based on what we have seen from Watchos 26, it seems likely that these will be mainly managed on a connected iPhone.
Given what Digitimes predicts for 2026, it seems that the Apple Watch 11 could be a more minor upgrade. However, the publication has mixed history for the predictions of Apple gadgets, so keep this in mind.
We will undoubtedly get much more leaks and rumors on the Apple Watch 12 in next year, but before that, we have the Apple Watch 11, which should appear alongside the handsets of the iPhone 17 at a time in September.
