Bajaur:
The authorities have imposed a one-week curfew in 24 regions of Mamond Tehsil, tribal district of Bajaur, while the security forces launch a targeted operation against the terrorists.
According to an official notification issued with the approval of the Department of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa house, the curfew came into force at 5 p.m. Friday, August 16 and will remain in force until 5 p.m. on August 21.
The order prohibits residents from leaving their homes or traveling on the roads during the period. Authorities have warned that any violation of restrictions would be treated strictly, and that individuals flout the curfew would be held responsible for any unfortunate incident.
The affected areas include Malangi, Suprayi, Dwaogai, Meena Suleman Khel, Khworchai, Chamyar Jor, Zagai, Gat, Agra, Ghandai, Zari, Nakhtar, Mula Killie, Bakro, Gowati, Chamyalon, Larkalan, Barkalan, Ghanam Shah, Chotra Damadola, Sultan Baig, incendence, fire and Naga.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani army launched emergency construction work on the Jarr bridge, which was swept away by recent floods, breaking the Bajaur road link with the DIR district.
Army engineers, supported by heavy machines and technical equipment, were deployed to install a replacement bridge. The officials said that the work was carried out 24 hours a day and should be completed in a few days, after which the vital route will be reopened for traffic.
