The Vikings of Minnesota were criticized on social networks before the start of the pre-season calendar because the team had two male cheerlers in its team.
Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn retaliated on criticisms in social networks publications.

“Wait … Did anyone say our name?” Shiek wrote in an article on Instagram with Conn before the Vikings pre-season match against the New England Patriots.
Photos of Shiek in a Cheerleading Vikings uniform sparked a frenzy and a debate on male chefs in the NFL. The Rams of Los Angeles were the first organization to have male cheerlers, which occurred in 2018. The Ravens of Baltimore also presented several men in their cheerful team.
The Carolina Panthers had the first team girl from her team until this year.
The Vikings published a statement to defend Shiek and Conn.

“Male cheerlers are among the previous Vikings teams and have long been associated with college and professional cheerleading,” the team told NBC News. “We support all our cheerlers and are proud of the role they play as an ambassadors of the organization.”
This is the first year of Sheik as a Pom-Pom Girl des Vikings. He shared an article in May, celebrating his recruit season.
“Excited and honored to share that I am officially a cheerleader of the Vikings of Minnesota 2025-26!” He wrote on social networks. “I am so grateful for this trip, the support and the opportunity to make a little history along the way. Conn was part of the Iowa State Cyclone dance team before joining the Vikings this season.
