Gilani urges discussions between political leaders

The president of the Senate, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, advised political parties to avoid their differences through dialogue and to create unity among their ranks.

Addressing a seminar entitled “World Impacts of Military and Diplomatic Victories of Pakistan on India”, the President of the Senate said that political and military leaders stand in the shoulder for the security of the country.

“I reiterate that the political leadership should remove their differences through negotiations,” said the president of the Senate.

Gilani stressed that Pakistan successfully defended its sovereignty with courage, wisdom and national unity, while gaining international recognition for its military and diplomatic achievements.

He said India’s false propaganda concerning the Pahalgam incident had been fully exposed to the world, adding that Pakistan has not only defended, but also exercised a restraint to avoid a new escalation.

He congratulated the armed forces of Pakistan and the chief of staff of the army, the Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, for having demonstrated an exemplary capacity and preparation. He noted that Pakistan had offered a dialogue and impartial investigations to India in the interest of peace. (With application input)
