- Two new leaks say that future Garmin watches will obtain LTE connectivity
- This feature allows you to add smart watches to a data plan, allowing you to make calls and disseminate without phone
- This is a feature included on Apple and Samsung watches, generally on more expensive models
Two new leaks claim that we could soon be able to make calls, broadcast music and respond to SMS from some of the best Garmin watches supposed to be announced – even without attached phone.
Yes, LTE connectivity arrives at Garmin Watches, according to distinct reports from Garmin Rumors and 5krunner’s leakage sites. Garmin rumors have joined a site called Appsensa, which digs in the code to discover developing features. Garmin would be “all-in” in cellular connectivity, depending on the site.
The features listed include SOS Emergency SOS messaging, two -way messaging, sharing the delivery location without a phone and voice calls with contacts.
Garmin Messenger, the surveillance satellite messaging service, would also be extended. Maybe Garmin Messenger will now be Garmin’s main messaging client, capable of sending an SMS using your data plan and reaching phones as well as other Garmin watches?
The5krunner also reports these claims, declaring that the obvious starting point is a Fenix 8 Pro, in which the “pro” represents the inclusion of LTE connectivity. The best Apple watches and the best Samsung watches often appear in more expensive Bluetooth and more expensive variations, so it would be logical for Garmin to follow this model.
A big step forward
The boys have long been considered distinct entities in smart watches, because they are more like adventure companions or training tools than daily communication devices. However, some ranges such as the Garmin series who came to scramble the lines a little.
Making watches capable of communications without phone would mean a huge change of strategy, and would allow more smartwatch models, such as the Garmin Venu X1 to seriously compete with tastes and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
If this is true, I am intrigued to see which future models get this LTE option. The Garmin came 4 seems to be obvious. A commentator on our hub of Garmin rumors came 4 agreed, declaring: “If the Garmin Venu 4 had come with LTE and one response by SMS which would certainly be a gamechanger. So many current iPhone users would jump on Venu 4 – It would be a dream watch.”
Perhaps we will also see forerunning pros with LTE options in the future, because Phone-free Livetrack seems to be an excellent safety tool for triathletes and trail runners who do solo training.
