The Ohio State coach Ryan Day said that Sayin was more consistent in the competition with Lincoln Kienholz and that there had been a certain separation between the two players last week.
“It was a tight competition. I think the two guys, we all confident, can win a game for us. I have the impression that our guys are confident with both quarters, I have the impression that we will need the two quarters,” said Day to journalists. “Lincoln has done a lot of great things, but we are going to name Julian The Starter, give him the majority of representatives with those and prepare to beat Texas.”
Sayin is listed in the second year, but there are four years of eligibility.
He was transferred to Ohio State from Alabama in January 2024.

“I think that winning confidence is all about consistency, who are you day by day, and do you make the routine games regularly. Are you someone on whom the offense can count and who your teammates can count regularly?” Sayin said on August 5.
He was a five-star hope that was the best quarter of his recruitment class. He was a star player at Carlsbad high school in California.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian also had great things to say about Sayin.
“We recruited him hard here. He was a very gifted passer, really good player. I came to camp with us, I think, two years in a row. So we have familiarity with him,” said Sarkisian. “Very good player, elite passer, very good arm talent, very fast release, really precise guy. Obviously, he has large weapons around him, so it’s the type of guy that can use these weapons in a good system. So, this poses a devil.”

The Ohio State also brings back the wide receptors Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate to the offense. Sayin will have a lot of weapons to succeed immediately.
