Jessalyn Siwa responded to the controversy surrounding his daughter, Jojo Siwa, after actor Mickey Rourke used a homophobic insult during a recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother UK.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday April 11, Jessalyn expressed both disappointment and concern.
According to US WeeklyShe said, “I was not surprised that he was not sent home. I am really sad to have sent my child to a foreign country to make a television program and she was treated like that right away.”
In addition, the incident occurred at the start of the season when Rourke, 72, told Jojo, 21 that she “will no longer be gay” if she stayed more than four days in the Big Brother house.
Jojo replied with confidence by saying: “I can guarantee that I will always be gay – and in a very happy relationship.”
According to the publication, Rourke then used a homophobic insult while speaking to another roommate, Chris Hughes.
Although he denied having directed the suspension to Jojo, his representative defended him, calling Rourke “authentically himself”.
In addition, Jessalyn praised Jojo’s grace under pressure saying: “She managed it very well,” she said. “I’m just lucky, she’s going well.”
Meanwhile, Jojo’s partner Kath Ebbs, who identifies himself as non -binary, also weighed on Instagram, saying: “We have all witnessed misogyny to play on national television in the past two days. Support for her was fast, which should be. ”
