Louis Tomlinson reflects on the time Zayn Malik left One Direction.
The 33-year-old English singer-songwriter appeared on the show Diary of a CEO podcast, where he became aware of Zayn’s departure from the group.
He revealed that before From dusk to dawn After the crooner came out, everyone in the band said they would never become “the kind of band that had all their individual dressing rooms,” but then life happened.
“During the last tour, Zayn [participated in]Harry [Styles] had his own dressing room, Liam [Payne] did it, Niall [Horan] did it, and Zayn and I shared,” Louis recalled.
However, he “felt a little hard about” Malik’s sudden decision to leave the group. “I felt like not throwing these boys under the bus, but letting me know.”
THE The biggest The singer said: “I thought we had a relationship where he could have had that conversation with me. On second thought, and he didn’t tell me, we’ll see when I tell him about it, but I think if he had told me, I would have tried to tell him to stay.”
“And I think that’s probably one of the reasons why he didn’t do it, because he knew that I always had very strong opinions,” Louis remarked.
He then discussed Zayn’s departure on March 25, 2015, a decision he made at the end of a “normal” night.
“He was cool, he wasn’t in a bad mood or anything like that, you know. ‘Good night, boy.’ And then the next morning I woke up, we had a photoshoot with Coca-Cola for a sponsor thing. And we found out he wasn’t coming,” the Wall singer said.
It is pertinent to mention that Louis Tomlinson also left One Direction in 2016, a year after Zayn Malik’s departure.
