Trade activities under the Pakistan-Iran Transit Corridor have officially begun, with the first export consignment being shipped from Pakistan.
Transit Trade Customs Director Sanaullah Abro said The Express PK Press Club that the first shipment, consisting of frozen meat, was transported by refrigerated trucks to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He said under the corridor, shipments from Pakistan would be routed via Gwadar and Iran to Central Asian states.
He added that the commissioning of the corridor would not only accelerate Pakistan’s economic growth but also increase traffic at the country’s ports.
