Prince William and Kate forced to act for Forest Lodge amid royal mistake

Prince William and Princess Kate moved into their “forever home” in Windsor last November, signaling a major change not only in their personal lives but also in their royal duties.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have previously taken unconventional steps with how they conduct business, but the couple had to bow to pressure by revealing a crucial detail about their living arrangements.

This was revealed in a report by The times that the future king and queen pay £100,000 more than the previous tenants for their annual rent (around £300,000).

According to official documents filed with the Land Registry, William and Kate signed a 20-year lease on the property in July. However, this is the first time the details have been made public, an unprecedented step for the royal family.

A royal commentator believes that William and Kate would not have liked to reveal this particular detail about their home, but were forced to take this step after the ‘grain rent’ of many royals was revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also pay rent for pepper. However, the most infuriating fact that had triggered British taxpayers was that disgraced ex-Prince Andrew was also not paying rent at Royal Lodge.

Meredith Constant pointed out that these reports put pressure on William, especially since the profits of the Duchy of Lancaster and the Duchy of Cornwall, which go directly into the pockets of the king and his heir respectively, were exposed in a documentary.

She claimed that after these reports, it sparked many changes in the way royals presented their portfolios. Everything is “designed” to make William look like a “more transparent leader who listens and learns.”
