World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler unleashed on his caddy in a surprise rant during an all-time meltdown on June 5, 2026.
Scottie in the first round of the PGA Tour Memorial Tournament unloaded his caddy at Muirfield Village in Ohio.
Scheffler hit a bad tee shot into the water on the left side of the par-3 16th hole.
He then decided to take out his frustration on none other than his longtime looper, Ted Scott.
Scheffler, who usually remains calm and composed, lost his composure on the Jack Nicklaus-built course by posting a double bogey on the 16th hole.
This followed continued poor shots at the 10th and 14th holes; at that point, he had already suppressed a lot of anger waiting to explode.
The rant exploded at his caddy as he stood in the tee box.
“I never thought it was the right solution. I don’t know what to do,” Scheffler said.
“I can’t hear a word you’re saying.”
Scheffler then started moving toward the drop zone, but he wouldn’t let his pushbacks go.
“I felt like it was a good short film,” he said.
It was a good short,” Scott replied.
“Now I’m in the water because she came in from the right,” Scheffler continued.
“I absolutely hit a 7-iron and we have a bad wind and I’m in the water.
“I don’t think you understand how frustrating this is. Like it’s a good short film.”
“It really was, I pulled it, right in line. The wind is turning right. My God, really.”
A par on the 18th hole allowed Scheffler to finish one shot over par for the first round with a 73.
The first round ended with a four-way tie at the top, as JJ Spaun, Wyndham Clark, Tommy Fleetwood and Ryan Gerard all shot rounds of 67.
