Tracy Shaw admitted she was finding it increasingly difficult to cope with her treatment, revealing she had no strength left after being rushed to the emergency room due to severe side effects from chemotherapy.
The former Coronation Street actress, 52, who shared the news of her illness in April, gave an update on Instagram, explaining she was home alone before having to turn to a neighbor for help.
Tracy shared the update on Instagram on Sunday, 10 days after completing chemotherapy.
Although doctors assured her she was fine, the actress became emotional as she revealed she “felt as vulnerable as a baby.”
She said: “On the tenth day my son had to go to a wedding. I thought I would be perfectly fine at home alone, but I had to go to the emergency room today.
“There is no more strength. In my head I thought maybe there would be a break, maybe a week after chemotherapy.
Tracy said she struggled to eat anything and her diet consisted of six eggs, plain chips and bread.
Speaking about the side effects she experienced, Tracy continued: “These are the effects that chemo had on the body. The chemo kills everything, including my stomach lining. There is no strength.
“I feel like I’m as vulnerable as a baby. It’s very difficult to be surrounded by people and noise. [My ears]they are so sensitive.
Tracy played Maxine Peacock in Corrie from 1995 to 2003, before being murdered by serial killer Richard Hillman.
