UFC champion Carlos Ulberg says he lost his championship belt he just won after winning the light heavyweight title at UCF 327.
He told Fox Sports Australia On Monday, he lost his golden belt while celebrating his victory.
“I lost the belt, bro,” Ulberg told FOX Sports. “Originally, after we won, the plan was not to have a drink. But you know how that goes, don’t you?” he said.
“First, someone buys you champagne to celebrate. Then one thing leads to another, and you’re doing shots.”

The 35-year-old New Zealander suffered a knee injury to defeat Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 327 by knockout this weekend in Miami to become the new champion of the light heavyweight division.
His injury could keep him sidelined for a year, meaning he’ll have to give up his championship status anyway, with UCF setting up an interim title fight to take his place.

But Ulberg said he was fairly confident his belt would be found before heading to Las Vegas to get a further evaluation of his knee from doctors. He then plans to spend time at the UFC Performance Institute before returning to New Zealand to reunite with his family.

“I didn’t want to carry the belt with me, so I think it’s still there somewhere in the apartment. One of the boys probably has it in bed with him,” Ulberg said.
