Here’s what you need to know about the odds table:
Love story: Arizona has found its new soul mate in the backfield, as Love is favored to win the OROY at the end of next season. He had 1,372 rushing yards and 18 rushing scores for the Fighting Irish last season, after totaling 1,125 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns the year before. FOX Sports NFL analyst Rob Rang had this to say after the Cardinals made the pick: “Throw out the position value narrative. Love’s ability to immediately bolster rookie coach Mike LaFleur’s offense justifies the selection. Frankly, general manager Monti Ossenfort needed a slam dunk and Love should provide it. His creativity, elusiveness and breakaway speed have earned him comparisons to NFL superstars like Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson from scouts traveling to South Bend the past two years. years.”
And Nando? : The first choice was no surprise, as Mendoza landed in Las Vegas. He threw for 3,535 yards and 41 scores last season, winning both the Heisman title and College Football Playoff titles for Indiana. “An ideal fit for the Raiders, both from a physical and intangible standpoint, Mendoza is not only the right choice, he is the perfect choice. His prototypical size, recognition before and after the snap and his accuracy both in the pocket and on the move should make him a star in rookie coach Klint Kubiak’s offense. Best of all, Mendoza has the composure on and off the field necessary for a team based in a city with the numerous distractions and Las Vegas.”
