Ubisoft revealed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynceda vast remake of the fourth Assassin’s Creed game.
Developed by Skull and bones studio Ubisoft Singapore, the iconic title has been completely rebuilt using the latest version of the company’s Anvil game engine. It features a completely reworked combat system in which protagonist Edward Kenway wields dual swords, pistols and the iconic hidden blade.
It was designed with speed and fluidity in mind, feeling like a cross between the combat of the original. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and those from last year Shadows of Assassin’s Creed.

Parkour has also been improved, with more responsive movements that should make jumping through environments considerably smoother.
Stealth was another area of focus, and players will finally be able to freely crouch to sneak around undetected. Those infamously frustrating surveillance and eavesdropping missions have also been revamped, removing the end-game pop-up screens and replacing them with new target reactions that force players to adapt their approach.
In the trailer, game director Richard Knight explained that the goal is to “deliver a faithful and enriched experience, built on what players loved” about the original game.
“Every little moment of the game had to be rebuilt and designed,” said creative director Paul Fu. “It took a lot of manual work, especially the facial animations, but it’s important because it’s the soul of the game.”
“No remake would be complete without additional content,” he continued, revealing that the remake will feature “all-new chapters and missions.”
He also explained that the team “never approached Resynchronized as a reinvention” and the team is eager to keep.”
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced is expected to launch on July 9, 2026.
