King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at the White House on Tuesday evening for a glamorous state dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania.
Buckingham Palace shared a portrait from the dinner as the royal family made an appearance at the venue.
Charles wore white ties for the evening and his regalia was on display. Meanwhile, Camilla opted for a hot pink Fiona Clare evening dress teamed with an amethyst and diamond necklace.
This historic piece of jewelry was originally gifted by a former Duchess of Kent to Queen Victoria before being passed on to Queen Mary.
Meanwhile, Melania wore blush pink for the event, sporting a strapless Christian Dior Haute Couture dress with off-white Dior suede gloves. Trump was also dressed in a suit.
The two couples posed in front of the White House before heading inside, where they joined distinguished guests.
The State Dinner marks the conclusion of official engagements in Washington, which had been designed to maintain historic ties between the UK and US through symbolism, history and a carefully staged royal presentation.
The dinner menu included a three-course meal, also prepared to honor the heritage and enduring friendship between the two nations. The evening’s entertainment will include performances by U.S. military musicians from the Marines, Army and Air Force.
