The Indianapolis Grand Prix was a crash-filled affair on Saturday that saw IndyCar star Christian Lundgaard take his first victory since 2023.

Felix Rosenqvist was involved in one of the scariest accidents of the day. He was entering turn 13 of the road course on lap 29 when he ended up on the side of Pato O’Ward and took off. Rosenqvist attempted to drive through the wreckage, but his vehicle was too damaged.

He finished 23rd after starting the race in third place.

Rosenqvist’s wreck was one of the few to occur on the course. The paint exchanges started early as there were bumps in the front stretch to pass the green flag before the first lap. As the drivers entered Turn 1, a handful of drivers were caught in a spin. Rosenqvist was also involved in this incident.

Marcus Ericsson, Christian Rasmussen and Alexander Rossi failed to finish the race. Romain Grosjean finishes the race but is one lap behind.

There were 12 caution laps awarded during the race and six lead changes among four drivers.

The biggest lead change came at the end. Lundgaard passed David Malukas with 18 laps remaining. He held off all other drivers for the rest of the race to take the victory.
