That’s right, big news… Lance says it’s coming back. I still see reports on Down Detector, but they are indeed starting to drop.
Spotify stumbles in the United States
I no longer subscribe to Spotify myself, but I asked my colleague Lance Ulanoff to try it, and he sent me this:
“Even though I can still open the app in the US, Spotify is having trouble responding to my requests. I can’t listen to or search for music.
“The situation is even worse on desktop. After a long wait, I managed to open Spotify in Chrome, but when I tried to connect, I received an error message. No music for me.”
Poor Lance, he’ll have to work instead.
Spotify responded to X users, admitting that it was “aware of some issues” and was checking them.

You can see in the screenshot below that the numbers have risen sharply, with over 14,000 users reporting issues 20 minutes ago.
Okay, so what do we know? Well, outage reports started increasing on Down Detector just under an hour ago.
