Prime Minister Shehbaz extends Eidoul Azha greetings to military and political leaders

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended Eidul Azha greetings to military and political leaders and paid tribute to the armed forces for their professional capabilities, sacrifices and services towards national security.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Prime Minister called on Chief of Defense Force and Chief of Army Staff Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf to convey greetings and best wishes for Eid.

“The Prime Minister praised the professionalism and unwavering commitment of the armed forces, saying the nation was proud of its brave soldiers and their sacrifices in defense of the country,” the statement said.

He also offered prayers for the security, development and prosperity of Pakistan, while paying tribute to the troops carrying out defense tasks during the Eid holiday.

The Chief of Defense Forces and the Service Chiefs thanked the Prime Minister for his greetings and good wishes for Eid, the statement added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also held separate telephonic conversations with senior government, constitutional and political officials to exchange Eidul Azha greetings. Radio Pakistan reported.

The Prime Minister called on President Asif Ali Zardari, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan and conveyed Eid wishes.

He also exchanged Eid greetings with Abdul Aleem Khan of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Khalid Magsi of Balochistan Awami Party and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao of Qaumi Watan Party.

The Prime Minister prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan, as well as unity and harmony within the nation.

During the conversations, views were exchanged on the overall political situation in the country, while emphasis was placed on effective coordination and cooperation between the federation and provinces.

The Prime Minister said that the federal government, in collaboration with all provinces and federated units, would continue to take all possible measures to provide maximum relief to the population.
