Vogue Williams previously said she found her divorce from Westlife singer Brian McFadden “really embarrassing” after they split in 2017.
The Irish presenter, 40, reflected on their relationship during a candid chat with Jamie Laing on his Large company podcast.
Vogue, who is now married to Spencer Matthews, said she found their split “humiliating” after those around her “expected” she and Brian would divorce.
She said: “It’s really embarrassing. It’s quite humbling because you know people started speculating and talking about it and you hear it, you know it’s true and you try not to let it out.
“We also put out a really scathing statement, which I don’t think is necessary.”
Vogue added that she wouldn’t feel embarrassed now that she’s older, but that at the time she felt like a “failure” because many people around her expected divorce.
She continued: “I remember saying to my older brother Frederick ‘I’m going to get married, we’re going to get married here’ and he was living in Australia at the time and he was saying ‘Vogue, I just can’t come back from Australia, but I’ll tell you what I’ll go to the next one,’ and he did, he came to the next one.”
Vogue added: “I never had any real bad feelings, things happen because they happen, we weren’t right for each other.
“I honestly don’t think there’s an ex I wouldn’t say hello to. It’s just a different time in your life.
“I remember getting divorced and thinking, ‘This is incredibly embarrassing,’ and feeling like what a big failure.
“Now I look back and think that wasn’t really the case, I was too worried about what people thought.”
Vogue met Brian in May 2011 and shortly after she left Ireland and moved to Oz to live with him while he worked as a judge on Australia has talent.
