King Charles opens Buckingham Palace doors for important meeting

King Charles hosted a number of renowned figures for a special cause at Buckingham Palace.

On June 3, the monarch attended the third annual Youth Opportunity Summit, which was attended by former England football manager Sir Gareth Southgate, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy and Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy.

For those who don’t know him, Sir Gareth is the roving ambassador for the King’s Trust, which has partnered with another program at a time of serious youth unemployment crisis.

According to ENthe program aims to “create a national network of mentors, coaches and training programs designed to equip young people for the world of work”.

Before the King’s arrival at the summit, participants took part in mentoring sessions with key figures from business, sport, civil society and the media.

It comes after King Charles, Queen Camilla and Princess Kate celebrated Cancer Research UK’s 125th anniversary at St James’s Palace.
