NYT Strands today (game #823) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #823, are…
- GRACE
- EASE
- BALANCE
- PLUMB
- STYLE
- CALM
- SPANGRAM: POETRY IN MOTION
- My rating: Easy
- My rating: Perfect
When you spot a non-game word as good as POETRY, there’s a good chance it’s part of a longer spangram and that’s what was proven today with the addition of INMOTION.
I also managed to spot a full set of non-gaming words starting with the letter P and could have found a few more, I’m sure, but there was only one P word among our six elegant movement descriptors.
POLOMB is one of my favorite words, and it’s often used to describe moments of sporting excellence, usually by Lionel Messi, but in my opinion it has to carry a bit of cheekiness and panache.
A better example would be the character of Beth in The Queen’s Gambit as she navigates a male-dominated world and destroys her opponents with casual cool. That said, when I first heard it, I found it strange that people would deliver things with a plum.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Wednesday, June 3, Match #822)

- HEATHER

- MEADOW
