Prince Harry “hurt” a senior and notable member of the royal family with his explosive decision.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step back from active royal duties. They wanted to live their lives on their own terms.
The late queen had then rejected Harry’s half-in, half-out request.
The Sussexes’ decision didn’t please many, but one person was extremely angry, and that was the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip.
Ahead of her birthday, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams spoke about her strong character and how the Duke and Duchess caused her grief during her final years of life.
Talk with The daily mailhe said: “Queen Elizabeth and her ‘strength and steadfastness’ Prince Philip formed one of the most remarkable couples in royal history.”
The royal expert added: “Prince Philip strongly disapproved of the way Harry and Meghan renounced their royal duties, catching the Queen off guard and plunging the monarchy into crisis.”
Prince Philip was also not in favor of Harry marrying Meghan.
He responded to Harry’s news with a stern warning. “We date actresses, we don’t marry them.”
