The White House and Donald Trump couldn’t resist Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding day, even if only numerically.
Shortly after, the video boards outside Madison Square Garden lit up with “JUST&T MARRIED!” Confirming that Swift and Kelce had officially married Friday evening, the official White House X account posted a photoshopped version of the same image, replacing the wedding announcement with the words “TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT.”
The move was not surprising given the history between Donald Trump and Swift.
The president said he grew to dislike the pop star, and Swift made her own position clear in the 2024 election when she endorsed Kamala Harris, pointedly using JD Vance’s phrase. childless cat lady description in its approval message.
No invitation to the MSG celebrations was ever going to arrive from either side.
The trolling landed on a day otherwise full of real spectacle.
Celebrity guests flocked to Madison Square Garden throughout Friday afternoon, with the Empire State Building lighting up blue like Swift’s symbolic “something blue.”
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, Swift’s brother Austin served as best man and Jason Kelce served as best man.
The bride and groom wore Christian Dior. Guests spotted included Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Ed Sheeran, Hugh Grant, Miranda Lambert and more.
The White House social media team may have had a great time, but considering Swift was celebrating her wedding at one of New York’s most iconic venues during one of the country’s biggest holiday weekends, it’s safe to say the couple didn’t lose any sleep over it.
