Charli D’Amelio pulls back the curtain on life behind viral videos and she admits growing up wasn’t as glamorous as it seems.
During a candid YouTube Q&A filmed while hiking, the TikTok star opened up about the emotional weight of turning 22, revealing that adulthood comes with more responsibilities and more therapy.
“My mental health continues to decline,” Charli admitted. “The age continues to increase, but the number of therapy sessions also continues to increase.”
The influencer said being “fully responsible for the first time” has been one of her biggest challenges, adding that she struggled with “not having the advice, or the mentors to help me or guide me in the decisions I should make or the life I want to live.”
His comments come months after fans speculated about tensions within the D’Amelio family, fueled by social media unfollowers and his quiet exit from the family snack brand.
Without going into detail, Charli admitted there was much more to the story.
“I would love to be able to really explain what happened over those few months,” she said, “but it takes dedicated time because it was very sensitive.”
She also hinted that she was ready to share more when the time was right.
“It’s something I wish I could talk about and help other people because I know it’s not just me who had a hard winter.”
Meanwhile, her father, Marc D’Amelio, denied rumors of family feuds, writing: “It’s not true. We love Charli but she’s being manipulated and I have the receipts…time to set the record straight.”
For now, Charli says she’s reconnecting with nature, with herself, and hopefully a healthier chapter ahead.
