- Soundpeats Nebula Aura teased in January 2026
- Since then, the brand has continued to maintain a blog on its development.
- Fans seem willing to sell a kidney to try them
Thanks to its lineup of solid, affordable headphones, Soundpeats is a brand I always keep my eye on. Between the Soundpeats H3 tri-driver in-ear headphones, the Soundpeats Clip1 open-back headphones, and the Soundpeats Cove Pro on-ear headphones, I’m always interested in what they have up their sleeves.
After getting a glimpse of these covers in January 2026, when the brand introduced five-driver headphones, we’ve learned more and more as time goes on. Since 2026, Soundpeats has run a blog dedicated to head development.
We already knew quite a bit, for example about the five drivers: the 10 mm dynamic driver is joined by a 6 mm planar driver, two balanced armatures and a planar magnetic driver. Support for aptX Adaptive, LDAC, and Snapdragon Sound were also featured in the knowledge bank.
But the blog highlights other elements of the bud, for example in the design department. One article discusses the charging case and how it was designed to allow you to remove the earbuds in the same gesture as opening it. This is something you don’t think about when buying buds online, and it shows that the brand takes care of its Nebula.
In another article, the brand details a transmitter that the Nebula will work with, allowing 24-bit audio playback at 96kHz from iPhones. That’s right, wastelands and no LDAC will finally be able to enjoy high-resolution music (androids can just use LDAC for this quality with the Nebula).
Fans can’t wait
Another side effect of publishing this blog is that Soundpeats has managed to generate a lot of organic enthusiasm for the Aura Nebula. And I’m not just talking about my personal interest in trying them.
A Soundcore representative actively shared the blog posts on Reddit, and they apparently amassed a devoted following of fans wanting to test out the headphones. There is also a Discord dedicated to buds.
For example, in the r/Earbuds subreddit, a recent post inspired a Q&A session between one of the product’s developers and enthusiastic fans who were dying to test the earbuds. And when I say “die,” I mean it: one interested party who requested updates said “it’s painful.” So yeah… the fans are pretty excited.
In the Q&A, fans’ top questions were about when the buds would arrive. Unfortunately, no response has been given, although TechRadar has contacted the company today (Wednesday July 8) and will update this article if we receive a response.
But Soundpeats has been very honest about other things. For example, when asked about battery life, the representative confirmed that he did not yet have a concrete estimate of the battery: “the exact battery life still needs to be tested and confirmed.” [… it’s] one of the things I personally watch closely too.”
Elsewhere, the developer shared more details about the earbuds: “55dB hybrid ANC, transparency mode support, 3 microphones per earbud, AI call noise reduction, and Qualcomm cVc 8.0.”
When a fan asked if the Aura Nebula would be a premium product to compete with Sony, Bowers & Wilkin or Technics, the response admitted “in terms of overall product capabilities and brand influence, we’re not quite ready to be compared to these industry giants yet.” They therefore remain humble, while suggesting that these heads will not cost too much.
It’s fascinating to see a brand like Soundpeats not only introduce a product well in advance of its launch, but also be so open about its R&D process. This creates interest in a way that inbox press release announcements don’t, and makes the brand appear more trustworthy than many peers. It’s quite surprising that more brands don’t do this sort of thing.
We were supposed to see Soundpeats release in Spring 2026, but that obviously didn’t happen. The brand posted about pre-production prototypes back in April, so hopefully we won’t need to wait. Also long before the Aura Nebula was released. I would worry about this Reddit poster if it was delayed much longer.
