Shotzi Blackheart began her first Major League Wrestling (MLW) Women’s World Championship earlier this year by defeating Shoko Nakajima on “Fusion.”
This is her first title in any type of MLW and she has enjoyed sitting at the helm of MLW’s women’s division after only officially joining the company in March.

“Oh my God, this feels good. Look at this beauty. I love it,” she said while showing off her championship belt in an interview with PK Press Club Digital. “I love MLW. I’m such a proud champion. I love this company so much. I’ve never seen a company understand Shotzi Blackheart more than MLW. So to be the champion there is like the greatest thing ever. Yes, I’m so proud.”
Now Shotzi has a target on his back. The challengers line up. She will defend her title against Kira, a rising star in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
Kira joined CMLL in 2023 and became an immediate player, participating in the tournament to crown the CMLL Universal Amazonas champion. She didn’t win this match but has a good opportunity to win the MLW Women’s World Title against Shotzi on Saturday.

Shotzi suggested she was excited about what Kira could bring to the ring.
“I mean, she’s amazing. I watched her a lot when I went to CMLL a few months ago, and she’s like an up and coming person,” Shotzi said. “I think she could become CMLL Women’s Champion soon. I definitely think she could run the company at some point, and seeing her step into MLW is awesome.
“I want to face girls like her – who you can tell have spent a lot of time in the ring and they really love this sport and they take it very seriously and she’s going to challenge me for sure. She’s a really awesome flyer. She does all the tricks and flips and it’s really awesome to see. I was very impressed when I was researching her. I’m so excited for it. I think it’s going to be an awesome match.”
Kira is far from the only one who wants to succeed Shotzi.
Scarlett Bordeaux, a good friend of the champion, previously told PK Press Club Digital that she will always support Shotzi but when it comes time to fight, she is going to give it her all.

In response, Shotzi thought Bordeaux could be a great champion and would love a feud with her.
“I completely agree. I think Scarlett would be a tremendous champion anywhere,” she told PK Press Club Digital. “But yeah, I would definitely make her work for it. But maybe she’ll be the one to take it from me. I don’t know. We’ll see. But I would love a feud with Scarlett. I would love that. And I would just say, ‘Hey girl, don’t hold back, you know, because I won’t do it either.’ I mean, we love each other, but in a way, we’re like we’re ready to fight against each other too.”
Regardless, Shotzi said she loves having the target on her back.
“I mean, it feels good. It feels good to be wanted, you know? I love having a target on my back,” she said. “I’m all for it. I love the drama – physical and everything. But yeah, with MLW teaming up with CMLL and Stardom, some really great girls are coming up and they want my neck and I’m all for it.”
The roster of women in MLW is so deep that no one can really expect to know who will come next for the champion. Lady Frost, Zamaya, Priscilla Kelly and others from companies like CMLL and Stardom are hiding in the shadows waiting for their chance at Shotzi and her championship.
