The DAO performing Aavegotchi, a niche non -bubble (NFT) token game voted massively to migrate the entire ecosystem at the base of Polygon, a movement reflecting the feeling of developer and user in the wider landscape of layer 2 of layer 2.
With 93.25% of the votes in favor, the proposal – entitled “Rendering Aavegotchi based again” – presents plans for a complete deployment on the basis, the Layer -2 Coinbase Blockchain which gained ground among the decentralized applications.
According to the proposal, all the Aavegotchi NFT, portable devices, game assets and intelligent contracts will be cloned and relaunched on the basis, with assets inherited on the polygon to remain visible but frozen to avoid transfers or updates.
Migration comes in the middle of a sharp drop in the use of polygon. According to Defillama data, the total locked value (TVL) on the chain has gone from a peak of almost $ 10 billion in 2021 to only $ 737 million today. At the beginning of 2024, TVL amounted to $ 892 million.
Base, meanwhile, has seen TVL increase to $ 2.9 billion against $ 430 million since the start of last year. Artemis data also shows the daily active addresses of Polygon increased from 1.3 million to 550,000 in the past year, while the base has more than doubled at almost 900,000.
Pixelcraft Studios, the developer behind Aavegotchi, cited the improvement in integration, faster transactions and better market medium as key reasons for this decision. A wrapper contract will also be introduced to protect the assets listed on markets such as Magiceden and Opensea.
Migration should be completed within four to six weeks.
