Green Bay’s packers have proposed a change of rule that would effectively prohibit Tash’s legendary push in the NFL, and CEO Mark Murphy expressed its optimism that the rule would adopt.
The ban on push push was the NFL annual meeting conference, but the owners filed the discussion on the advisability of prohibiting it until May. The packers’ proposal “would prohibit an offensive player from pushing a teammate who was aligned directly behind the Vivaneau and receives the snap, immediately to the Snap”. Murphy expressed his optimism that the proposal would be adopted.
“I think it ended up in a good place,” said Murphy, via Pro Football Talk. “WE ENDED UP TABLING IT, but we had a really good discussion, Talked a little bit about our safety concerns looking the play, just kind of the play, but good interaction with the league and so it’ll be tabled and then what we go to do is it ‘ WE’RE Going to go – In 2005, The League Did Away with the Rule that you Couldn’t Push Runners, and so We’re Going To Go Back and see the Language that we had in 2004, and i’m optimistic.

“I think there are enough people who watch him and say that it is really not good for the game, it’s more a rugby game than a football game, just going back to what was the rule.”
Rich McKay, president of the NFL competition committee, said earlier this month that problems go beyond security because there is not enough data to say if it was a dangerous game. The League said that no injury had been reported on Tash’s push.
