Karachi:

Despite the repeated complaints of the police responsible for a decrease in crime, the harsh reality in the field depicts a very different table.

According to the latest report published by the citizen liaison committee (CPLC), the streets of Karachi remained dangerous and unpredictable in March 2025, while hundreds were killed and thousands of citizens were deprived of their vehicles, their motorcycles and mobile phones in the event of restraint and flight incidents.

In March only in March, the Karachites underwent major financial losses because 160 vehicles were torn off or stolen, 4,179 motorcycles were swept away by similar crimes and 1 312 mobile phones were torn from citizens under the threat of firearm.

The situation becomes even more alarming by looking at the first three months of 2025. From January to March, the figures were even more astounding, during which, 537 vehicles were lost, 12,182 motorcycles disappeared from roads and parking lots and 4,300 mobile phones were torn from citizens.

Similarly, during the same month, a ransom abduction incident and 9 extortion incidents was reported. Meanwhile, 42 citizens were also killed during the targeted murders in the city.

According to the report, during the same period, 132 people were killed in incidents of murder and vandalism in the city, five kidnappings for ransom and a total of 24 extortion incidents were reported.

These crimes cost billions of rupees to the public. The allegations of crime reduction police are valid, but the looting of citizens is still underway in the city.

The allegations of police officers concerning a decrease in crime are in place, but the series of flights from citizens is still underway.
