American idol There are only three contestants left after Monday’s surprise-filled season 24 episode.
The grand finale is just a week away, when America votes for the next American Idol.
The show sent two more singers home, revealing the top 3 singers in American idol on Monday evening May 4, 2026.
On the Monday, May 4 episode, Paula Abdul appeared as a guest judge and Randy Jackson as a guest mentor.
The episode also featured five stars from season five, including Elliot Yamin, Kellie Pickler, Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington and winner Taylor Hicks.

Who reached the Top 3 of “American Idol” S24?
Hannah Harper
Hannah Harper, mother of three young boys, who sent shockwaves with her humming song String cheeseduring his moving hearing.
The song also topped the iTunes chart in the children’s music category, while on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart it ranked at number 14.
With her place in the Top 3, the Missouri native will once again surprise the judges.
Harper performed on “Idol” with A Broken Wing; Jo Dee Messina directs Carolina, Tails California; Taylor Swift Mean“Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide; And At the Cross (Love ran red).
Keyla Richardson
The 29-year-old music teacher from Florida made history American idol.
Richardon during his audition, chose Pick’s Glitter In the air and the judges can’t help but marvel at his performance.
The idol judges even went on air saying that Richardson should avoid revealing her vocal peak too early.
“You have a voice that will make people stop in their tracks,” an emotional Bryan told him.
“I can’t believe you’re 29 and you haven’t been in our lives yet. Thank you.”
Richardson earned her place in the Top 3 on Monday night with a dazzling performance from Ike and Tina Turner. River Deep—Mountain High.
Jordan McCullough
Jordan McCullough, who is not naive about reality TV competitions.
The 27-year-old hails from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and also auditioned for The voice in 2019, when his performance didn’t earn a single chair turn.
After several years, McCullough entered the competition playing CeCe Winans’ Goodness of Godand impressed the three judges with a standing ovation.
McCullough earned her place in the Top 3 with a superb performance from Leona Lewis Footprints in the sand.
The grand finale of American idol Season 24 premieres Monday, May 11, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. MDT on ABC.
