Ariana Grande slams ‘inhumane’ White House for using song

Ariana Grande publicly calls out the White House after a version of her song 2024 Bye was used in a TikTok post showing ICE agents arresting and handcuffing people.

The singer commented directly on the post, making her position unambiguous.

“Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane and heinous nonsense,” she wrote, according to Reuters.

A spokesperson for Grande confirmed the comment to Varietynoting that this post was “for some reason not publicly viewable” and said his team was working to have the audio removed from the video.

The White House did not take these criticisms with open arms.

Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson issued a statement in response: “We will say it one last time: What is actually barbaric, inhumane and abhorrent is criminal illegal aliens who have harmed and murdered innocent American citizens. »

Deputy press secretary Kush Desai went further, responding directly to Grande with a series of puns about her song titles.

“Save your tears, Ariana. Because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflationary crisis and are generating trillions in new investment,” he said.

“He even magically signed an executive order that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off concert-going Ariana Grande fans. Get well soon, Ariana!”

This isn’t the first time Grande has publicly taken a stand against the Trump administration.

In September 2025, she shared an Instagram post criticizing ICE raids, transphobic rhetoric, and other threats to democracy, originally written by activist Matt Bernstein as a pointed message to the former president’s supporters.

Grande, 32, previously supported Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election and performed at the White House during the Obama administration in 2014.

She is currently on the Eternal Sunshine Tour and is scheduled to perform at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles this Saturday.
