Barry Keoghan has spoken out against speculation he cheated on singer Sabrina Carpenter.
He called the online harassment he faced “disgusting and vile.”
Appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Friends keep secrets podcast, the Salt burn The actor confirmed that the narrative surrounding his breakup from Carpenter centered around alleged infidelity.
He categorically called this claim false.
“There was a narrative that was never really told, a narrative that wasn’t true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it. I just disappeared,” Keoghan explained.
The actor noted that TikTok influencer Breckie Hill fueled rumors by reposting videos suggesting she was involved with him, before later recanting and clarifying that she had never met Keoghan.
“Nobody seemed to latch on to that video,” he said, frustrated that the denial failed to gain traction.
Keoghan stressed he was not looking for sympathy but wanted the public to stop perpetuating lies.
“I ask people to stop assuming and also stop jumping into this narrative, attacking me and dragging me down in every way possible, involving my parents who are no longer with me… just absolutely disgusting and vile,” he said.

“You don’t even want to be on screen anymore,” he admitted.
Keoghan and Carpenter went public with their relationship in February 2024 before confirming their split in December.
