Bella Hadid Slams Met Gala 2026 for Having Trump Supporter Jeff Bezos as Sponsor and Co-Chair

Bella Hadid made the conscious decision not to attend the Jeff Bezos-backed Met Gala this year, despite her older sister Gigi Hadid being in attendance.

The 29-year-old model, very politically active in recent years, participated in the biggest fashion evening for the fourth year in a row. Although she has not publicly commented on the reason for her absence this year, Bella’s social media activity confirmed that she was boycotting the event because Jeff Bezos was a sponsor and co-chair.

Three days before the event, Bella “liked” a video by writer and comedian Meredith Lynch, which highlighted the hypocrisy of wearing an “ICE OUT” pin at the Met Gala.

“You can’t wear the ICE OUT pin to the Jeff-Bezos-supported Met Gala. Jeff Bezos is part of the reason we’re in this fucking mess. Jeff Bezos is supporting this fucking mess,” Lynch says in the video, noting that while funds from the event “go to a good cause,” it’s impossible to reconcile the fact that the Met Gala is sponsored by Bezos, who in turn supports President Donald Trump.

Another celebrity who expressed disapproval was Taraji P. Henson, who wrote in the comments section of Lynch’s video: “I’m so confused by some people going there. I’m just like WTF ARE WE DOING!?!?!?!”
