The UK Assembly elections are due to take place on June 7, and political parties will make a final push to mobilize voters across the region before campaigning officially ends later this week.

Top Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser on Friday alleged that he was prevented from reaching Islamabad airport and missed his flight to Skardu for election campaigning in Britain.

Following the incident, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi wrote to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeal of Great Britain, seeking immediate judicial intervention in the matter.

In April, the UK Electoral Commission announced that general elections in the region would take place on June 7, 2026, after four months of delay. Initially scheduled for January 24, 2026, the elections were postponed indefinitely due to difficult weather conditions in the region.
