Taylor Swift’s reported fallout with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may have gone beyond the adults involved.
According to Rob Shutter, the singer-songwriter’s once-close bond with the couple’s four children also quietly changed after her friendship with the Hollywood couple ended.
The pop superstar has long been known as a godmother to children and even immortalized James, Inez and Betty by inserting their names into songs from her album Folklore – a move fans saw as proof of their unusually close bond.
Now, sources say that chapter is coming to its natural end.
“When Taylor’s friendship with Blake and Ryan ended, her role as active godmother naturally faded as well,” a close source said. “There was no argument with the children. She is simply no longer part of their daily lives.”
Fans also noticed a detail at Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded July 3 wedding that fueled speculation: Blake, Ryan and their kids were nowhere to be found.
“That tells the whole story,” said another insider. “Years ago, they would have been front and center. Today, they are no longer part of Taylor’s inner circle.”
Despite the reported distance, sources insist there are no hard feelings towards the children.
“Taylor still has love for these kids,” the source quoted him as saying. “But relationships with children often depend on relationships with their parents. When the friendship ended, the bond naturally faded. It’s sad, but it’s reality.”
Although neither Swift nor Lively have publicly responded to these claims, the reported change continues to spark conversations among fans who once considered the families inseparable.
