Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark moved closer to a one-game suspension Wednesday night when she committed her seventh technical foul of the season against the Connecticut Sun.
With the Fever leading 95-67 late in the third quarter, Olivia Nelson-Ododa was penalized for a foul. Saniya Rivers, Nelson-Ododa’s teammate, began biting Clark. The WNBA sharpshooter appeared to tell Rivers to check the scoreboard and before things could get any more heated, the officials gave them technical fouls.

“She said she was locking me out, so I said ‘Scoreboard’ and the ref didn’t like that,” Clark said after the match, via ESPN.
Clark was adamant that she wasn’t going to keep her aggressive style of play at bay just because she risked a one-game suspension on her next technical foul.

“I think you just have to keep trying to control your emotions as best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me, but also knowing that my team needs me and finding a good balance between that. But I don’t think I’m going to play with that in the back of my mind,” she said.
Indiana won the game 123-88.
Clark had 27 points and 11 assists in 27 minutes. She was 8 of 13 from the field and made five 3-pointers.
She is currently tied for fourth in scoring, averaging 21 points per game. She is also second in assists per game, averaging 7.9. Indiana improved to 17-10 with the win and sits in fifth place in the WNBA rankings.

Diamond Miller led Connecticut with 15 points. The Sun fell to 7-20 on the season.
