Sameer to be questioned in prison as police investigate suspected passengers, drug supply chain and financial trails
Karachi’s Darakhshan and Garden police intensified their action against the facilitators of so-called ‘cocaine queen’ Anmol alias Pinky after a district and sessions court on Thursday granted permission to arrest and question a key suspect in two cases.
The court allowed the police to arrest and investigate Muhammad Sameer, believed to be a close associate of Pinky, in connection with these cases. The investigator was invited to conduct his interrogation at the central prison, where he is currently incarcerated.
According to police, Sameer was arrested in June 2021 in a hashish recovery case and is still in custody. Meanwhile, Pinky is in police custody.

During his interrogation, Pinky allegedly divulged the names of the runners involved in the supply of narcotics, including Sameer. Police said the suspect allegedly used a motorcycle to deliver drugs and also managed the transfer of proceeds from drug sales through bank accounts.
Police said further questioning of the suspect was necessary and requested his remand for investigation.
Besides, the complainant in the murder case against Pinky did not appear before the court to record his statement under section 164.
According to the written procedure issued by the Southern District Judicial Magistrate at the Central Jail Judicial Complex, the complainant was supposed to record his statement in the case, but he failed to appear.

Judicial sources indicated that the complainant was unable to attend the proceedings due to the illness of one of his parents.
Subsequently, the judicial magistrate left the Judicial Complex without recording the statement. The investigator and lawyers also did not appear in court.
Special prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi said the complainant in the case was a social worker.
