CZ after prison says time behind bars didn’t hurt billionaire’s business after Binance

“I don’t have any hard feelings or anything, right? I just want to help grow crypto all over the world, and to do that we need to help grow crypto in America.”

The Canadian national said he would not participate at any level in U.S. politics, despite his industry’s growing reputation for political campaigning and influence. But he supports the United States’ goal of becoming the crypto capital of the world, and he gave an interview during a trip to Washington.

In the meantime, he’s focused on early support for “high-impact companies that may not be very profitable.” So far, his criminal justice experience has not hindered those relationships.

“I’ve had guys apologize to me for a misunderstanding before,” CZ recalls. “They said, ‘Well, I thought there was financial fraud.'”

On the contrary, he said, it was helpful.

“Sometimes that’s a plus,” he said. “It kind of builds your character to have gone through this very difficult and unfair time, and to have been tested and scrutinized, but they didn’t really find any real problems. Well, there was a BSA violation, which I don’t dispute, but there’s no fraud.”
