The two ministers agree to remain in close contact as the Kuwaiti minister hails Pakistan’s efforts towards lasting peace and security.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar held talks with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced.
“The two leaders discussed the developing regional situation and exchanged views on its broader economic implications,” the Foreign Ministry said in an article on X.
He added that Dar “underscored Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote constructive engagement and diplomacy for peace and stability in the region and beyond.”

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, for his part, “welcomed Pakistan’s sincere efforts aimed at fostering lasting peace and security for the Ummah as well as the international community at large.”
Dar and Al-Sabbah reaffirmed the “strong fraternal ties” between their countries, agreeing to remain in close contact, the Foreign Ministry concluded.
In a previous telephonic conversation with FM Dar, Al-Sabah had again praised Pakistan for its role in the US-Iran peace negotiations.

Dar has continued to receive international recognition for its diplomatic leadership as Pakistan has positioned itself at the center of high-stakes mediation efforts during the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran.
Hosting the “Islamabad Talks” in early April, which, although did not result in any breakthrough, Pakistan continued its diplomatic efforts, engaging with leaders in the Gulf and beyond.
On April 27, FM Dar held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada and Egypt, discussing developments regarding the regional situation and highlighting the importance of diplomacy for peace. Three days later, European Union Vice President Kaja Kallas also spoke to Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam on April 28 expressed their gratitude to Dar for facilitating talks between the United States and Iran.
In recent weeks, senior officials and influential voices from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United States, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bahrain and Uzbekistan, have publicly acknowledged Dar’s role in facilitating ceasefire negotiations.
