ISLAMABAD:
A fire broke out at three separate points in the Margalla Hills behind Sector F-5, prompting a large-scale response from the district administration, with over 65 personnel engaged in firefighting operations.
Officials said strong winds spread the fire to several locations, complicating the efforts of rescue and firefighting teams. The district administration confirmed that personnel remained actively deployed at all affected locations to contain the fire and prevent its spread across the hills.
According to authorities, difficult wind conditions slowed operations and restricted access to certain areas. However, teams are working continuously to control the situation and minimize the damage.
As a precautionary measure, all hiking trails in Margalla Hills have been temporarily closed. Citizens have been advised to avoid visiting the area until firefighting operations are completely completed.
The district administration urged the public to cooperate with emergency services and stay away from hills to ensure smooth and uninterrupted rescue efforts, warning that wind changes could further increase the risk of fire spreading.
Officials said monitoring of affected areas was ongoing and further updates would be released once the fire was completely extinguished.
