FPSC announces CSS 2025 results, success rate drops to 2.67%

12,792 candidates sat for the written exam, of which only 355 passed

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) on Thursday announced the results of the Senior Central Services (CSS) Examination 2025, which showed a very competitive result with a pass rate of only 2.67%.

According to official figures, 12,792 candidates sat for the written exam, of which only 355 passed. The commission recommended the appointment of 170 candidates, including 84 men and 86 women.

Among the top performers, Asad Rafiq got first place, Muhammad Mohsin Khalid came second and Tariq Hafeez came third.

The FPSC said the top 30 job holders have been allocated to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and the Pakistan Police Service. However, none of the top 30 candidates received a position in the foreign service.

According to figures released by the commission, female candidates performed well, with 177 women passing the exam compared to 178 men. Among the recommended candidates, women outnumbered men, with 86 candidates selected out of a total of 170.

The statement also said that a specially-abled (blind) candidate had secured the second position on merit and was posted to PAS.

Data released by the commission showed a strong regional concentration among the best performers. Among the top 30 candidates, 23 belonged to Punjab, while Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had two candidates each. Three candidates from Balochistan also figured in the top 30.
