Jay Klaitz, the voice actor behind Grand Theft Auto 5Heist mastermind Lester Crest has shut down rumors he will play a character in Grand Theft Auto 6.
Speaking to online marketplace Eldorado, Klaitz was asked about a fan theory that he would play Carl Hampton, a character who appeared in both films. GTA6 trailers and appears to be an important supporting character.
Klaitz immediately denied that he was playing the character, saying, “No, it’s not me. I’ll just tell you straight, it’s not me.”
He went on to add, “I’m not allowed to talk about things that I’m not allowed to talk about, but I can say something isn’t me and it’s not me.”
Although it doesn’t look like Klaitz will star in the next RGT game, he revealed that his dream role would be that of a “real villain” if Rockstar Games offered it.
“I would say what I would be most interested in is being a real ‘bad guy,'” Klaitz said. “Lester lived in sort of a middle ground where he was this bad guy with a heart of gold, living in the gray areas in terms of morality, but he was still a good guy and he looked out for his people.”
The actor also admitted that while he would love to play a bad guy, he would also love to play a good guy.
“It would be fun to become a real bad guy, or actually, now I’m saying it out loud, it might be fun to be a super good guy too,” he said. “Just lean one way or the other, because with Lester, I’ve always been in that kind of middle ground.”
Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There are still no pre-order details or pricing, but rumors suggest it could cost up to $100.
In the same interview, Klaitz said he wouldn’t pay $100 to play GTA6 and suggested that Rockstar Games should keep it reasonable for the broader player base.
