Voice actor Jay Klaitz, who played criminal mastermind Lester Crest in Grand Theft Auto 5 And Grand Theft Auto Onlinesaid the next episode’s satirical humor might not have as much impact in today’s already “wacky and crazy” world.
Speaking in an interview with online marketplace Eldorado, Klaitz said he “wouldn’t be surprised if a little bit of impact was taken out of GTA6“initial landing” given the current political climate.
“Don’t get me wrong. It’s still crap. RGT. It’s going to be huge. People are going to lose their shit. It’s going to be huge, obviously,” he continued. “But it’s a different world than 13 years ago when the last one came out. I mean, it’s a very different world than it was even a year ago.”

He added that “what seemed so far-fetched and insane a short time ago now seems like just another day” and opined that “perhaps GTA6 can’t make as much noise as previous games” as a result.
That said, he admitted that developer Rockstar Games could still pull it off. “I know there will be a lot of commentary and satire,” he said.
“The political spotlight often turns to Florida, and that may be why it will continue to hold on to people, but what we see happening in the real world is certainly going to make it harder for a country. RGT game to work these angles.
The interview comes like many others who have worked on the past RGT games speculated on Grand Theft Auto 6. Recently, the former GTA 5 Audio designer Rob Carr said he thought the next game would feature mechanics from previous titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and that the studio “probably rebuilt the entire RAGE engine” for this.
Speaking to CNBC’s Jim Cramer in February 2026, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive, confirmed that there were “marketing beats coming this summer” to promote. GTA6 to give a boost to the fashion train.
With GTA6 slated to launch on November 19, 2026, this likely means we can expect an increase in publicity and perhaps a slew of new trailers in the coming weeks.
