Despite taking and maintaining an early first-half lead, DR Congo failed to contain Harry Kane after the break.
The Bayern Munich player has now scored a total of 13 FIFA World Cup goals, overtaking the legendary Pelé in the all-time tournament goalscoring charts.
With the English team through to the next round, Kane will have further opportunities to increase his tally.

This is not the only feat achieved by the England captain in today’s match. He also consolidated his position for the race for the Golden Boot, behind tournament leaders like Messi and French star Kylian Mbappe.
