A special anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has ordered Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, and the senior party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and 117 other people to appear in court for hearings related to the GHQ attack case.
The decision was made during a hearing before the special anti-terrorism court, where Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the case, Express News reported.
In addition to Imran and Qureshi, the former provincial minister of Punjab Raja Basharat and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the chief minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, were also listed among those required to attend the legal proceedings.
The court issued an assignment to the 119 accused, ordering them to appear before the court in the context of the attack on the general seat (GHQ).
In addition, two witnesses were also called upon to testify in the case.
Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned, has been responsible for appearing before the prison court, while Shah Mehmood Qureshi must appear in court on April 12 of Lahore prison.
The court also asked the defense lawyers to prepare for the counterfeit witnesses during the next hearing.
In accordance with the Directive of the Supreme Court, the court announced that the GHQ attack affair would be resolved in the next four months.
The court also declared that no party would be authorized to delay the procedure without justifiable reasons. As part of the accelerated approach, hearings will be held twice a week, ensuring that the case is taking place quickly.
Until now, 25 witnesses have registered their declarations in the case.
The court also asked the investigation team to appear with the full prison file in Adiala prison during the next session.
In addition, opinions have been issued for the appearance of the magistrate and witnesses of the police.
The case was postponed until April 12, when the next hearing will take place. The accelerated court process aims to provide clarity and resolution to the current case against the accused.
